Last week at The Restaurant Bar & Grill in Manchester our top mixologists came together to take part in a cocktail competition where, for this occasion, El Dorado Rum was in the limelight. Judged by industry leaders, Alec Morgan, account manager at Love Drinks, Lyndon Higginson of Liars Club and Jamie Jones of the dynamic Manchester pop ups ‘the ski club’ and ‘the yacht club’, this was an opportunity for our bartenders to really show their innovation and creativity.

With 12 super keen bartenders ready to shake, stir and roll their way to the winners circle it was Ben Tooley from The Restaurant Bar & Grill in Manchester who took first prize – an all expenses paid trip to Guyana, South America to visit the El Dorado distilleries. Big congratulations also to Alessandra Mastrantonio from Piccolino in Bristol who finished second and Warren Rodriquez from The Tunbridge Wells Bar & Grill for a well deserved third place. Watch for Ben’s cocktail to feature on our drinks menu at The Restaurant Bar & Grill in the coming months, but in the meantime recipes below for the top three winning cocktails!
