Modern Slavery Statement – Individual Restaurants
Individual Restaurants conducts its business on the basis of sound ethical principles, with a zero‑tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking. It takes these responsibilities seriously.
Organisational Structure and Supply Chain
Individual Restaurants is a restaurant chain comprising of four institutions: Piccolino, Restaurant Bar and Grill, Piccolo and Riva Blu. These institutions span 31 sites across the UK and employ around 1,300 colleagues. Individual Restaurants treats its own employees fairly with regards to pay and working conditions. It is expected and made clear to suppliers that Individual Restaurants requires they follow its model of respecting the human rights and welfare of their employees. This includes taking all necessary measures to guard against modern slavery and human trafficking within their own business and their supply chain.
Policies
Individual Restaurants works with over 200 suppliers, the majority of which are established suppliers with whom it trades on a basis of mutual trust, respect and transparency. Individual Restaurants works closely with all direct suppliers to ensure it remains aware of any potential issues which may arise, particularly in respect of any ethical considerations.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
Individual Restaurants prides itself on maintaining long‑term relationships with suppliers, accordingly, it has not been necessary to onboard any new suppliers of note in the past financial year. The close and long‑term relationship Individual Restaurants maintains with suppliers ensures that it is able to monitor compliance with UK and EU legislation in respect of ethical trading and worker welfare as part of ongoing risk assessments and management of suppliers.
Future Plans
Individual Restaurants will continue to work with its suppliers to improve all aspects of its supply chain and remains committed to a zero tolerance policy of slavery and human trafficking. Individual Restaurants continues to provide further education and training in this area internally, to highlight areas of the business and supply chain which pose a higher risk in respect of compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Individual Restaurants is committed to raising awareness of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and ensuring our ongoing compliance with our legislative and ethical requirements. This statement is made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year ended April 2023. It was approved by the Board of Directors on 26 February 2025.
